Paris,  29th June 2020 Dear Dad, It's now more than three months since you've gone and you're here more and more. Keep it up, it's good. This was one of your many characteristics: it was impossible to refuse you anything. At least I never managed to. You knew it and made the most of it. Unashamedly. Sometimes this was pretty inspired of you. Like in 1998 when you asked me to give your editor friend Jean Marchetti some unpublished stories. I'd like to see anyone dare ask that of me. But, with that unassuming way of yours, you dared and you got what you asked for. That was beginning, with its birthplace in Rome, of Like a Shiny New Saucepan. Lots of love, Amélie
