Poetry crystallized into images: this is an apt description of Sigefride Bruna Hautman's work. Since the 1980s, Hautman has developed a rich and multifaceted oeuvre encompassing not only sculpture, but also reliefs, installations, videos, collages and text-based works. Recurring themes, such as social indignation, existential questions and interpersonal relationships, form the connective thread in her practice. Her work constantly oscillates between language and imagery, the personal and the collective, the physical and the symbolic.
