How do we make sense of urban biodiversity in the digital age? Drawing on data from a wide range of digi-tal sources, including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, and generative AI tools, this book explores how online platforms shape debates on urban environmen-tal policy, influence public perceptions of biodiversity, and foster new forms of engagement between humans and nonhuman species. The findings reveal the frag-mented and often contradictory ways in which urban biodiversity is portrayed and discussed online, offering insights into how cities can more effectively commu-nicate and implement biodiversity policies.
