Contenuto

The volume is structured into three sections that outline theoretical, experimental, and discursive frameworks, where research and design practice converge to redefine the relationship between construction and the environment. The first section provides an international research perspective, in which theoretical and applied approaches share knowledge to explore innovative solutions. This is followed by an experimental research section, acting as a bridge between theory and practice, discussing the work of international design studios (Carlo Ratti Associati, Felixx, MVRDV, LAND, PININFARINA, SLA): from architectural detail to public space design, from green and blue infrastructure to adaptation and mitigation strategies. The dialogue between researchers and practitioners, in a dynamic and personal exchange on climate emergencies and new ways of conceiving architecture design, offers theoretical and methodological reflections shaped by years of study. In the Lessons Learned section, experimental practices and research experiences highlight the need for a renewed architecture and urban designer figure capable of adopting a regenerative, nature-positive, and multi-species approach to the project. Such an approach seeks to restore a vital equilibrium between humans and the environment, paving the way for an innovative, transformative, shared future.
