"The Cure of Imperfect Eyesight with Treatment Without Glasses " by William Horatio Bates. A brilliant book written by an ophthalmologist for the masses. William Horatio Bates (1860-1931) was an American physician who practiced ophthalmology and developed what has become known as the Bates Method for Improving Sight, an educational method aimed at improving vision by overriding an assumed habitual effort to see. The book contains the results of decades of research and experimental work on various eye disorders. Although he expected to find some errors in the old theories and beliefs used for the past 150 years, he was amazed by his findings and the effect they had on the treatment of vision defects. Bates graduated from Cornell University in 1881 and received his medical degree from Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1885. He formulated a theory of vision health and published the book Perfect Sight without Glasses in 1920. Part of Bates' approach to correcting vision disorders was based on psychological principles, which were contrary to many of the medical theories of the time and remain so. The Bates Method still enjoys limited acceptance as an alternative medicine modality. This special edition contains an exclusive 40-page Bonus explaining how the innovative "Power Vision System" method of Visual Reeducation works, created on the scientific studies of the past 50 years and to support all those already following Dr. William Horatio Bates' Method.
