A book to inspire - that's Understanding Experience to learn about human-centered design in a way that's simple and direct. Not a manual telling people how to do things, but a useful guide for anyone who wants to fully understand the potential of this approach, with a view to introducing it in their organisation. Or for anyone taking their first steps in the world of human-centered design, like Lorenzo, the student with a thousand questions and the main character of this book. Writing the book in graphic form was by no means a random choice. The language of graphic novels calls for concision, while the images evoke worlds that can't be fully described in words. The book tells the story of a project - mainly fictional, but not entirely. The user research (interviews), the results analysis (personas and customer journeys) and parts of the user experience design did actually take place. The book is divided into 14 chapters. It opens by introducing the team who'll be telling us about the project, step by step, and ends by illustrating the value of human-centred design.
