The volume examines the Asian ethnicity residing in the United States in the twenty-first century. Migration flows from Asia to the United States must be considered a noteworthy and protracted phenomenon that also affects the future. After an introduction of historical hints, in the first chapter various characteristics of a particularly recent and current nature are outlined in relation to Americans of Asian origin - their attitudes in the political and economic sphere and their sporting performances are examined, and a section is dedicated to criminal acts connected to Asians. The work also examines the health care situation of Americans of Asian descent and provides a general overview of their annual incomes. The ambivalent character of Asian ethnicity is highlighted: on the one hand, highly qualified people constitutes a significant benefit to the US economy, but on the other hand they are frequently victims of aggression, discrimination and even murder, and a rather high percentage is forced to endure situations of poverty by living on the margins. The second chapter is linguistic in nature, containing lexicographic and corpora analysis about Chinese, Japanese and Hindi loanwords in the American English vocabulary. Finally, the concluding part examines the problems relating to Asians residing in the United States, outlining the particularly deplorable fate of Americans of Cambodian origin.
